Course Objectives

This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills required for the safe and efficient collection of blood samples. It combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practice to ensure a thorough understanding of venepuncture techniques.

Important Notice

It's important to note that the course's practical components are conducted using mannequins. Achieving competency in venepuncture necessitates further practice under clinical supervision in the participant's workplace, which should be arranged with their employer. A further logbook will be provided, that allows the student to log ten supervised instances of venepuncture on a patient, after completion of the training day

Who Should Attend?

The training is designed for any healthcare professional within the public or private sectors, including doctors, nurses (practice/community), and medical support staff, who may need to perform venous blood sampling as part of their patient. We run these sessions for a maximum of ten students at a time, if you are after bigger sessions we will have to organise different arrangements.

Duration

This is a one-day course, beginning at 09:00 extending until 17:00, depending on how well the students grasp it.  For additional details or specific enquiries, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Equipment

We will provide all the equipment for the training day, with enough to allow the students to complete ten practice attempts

​

Certification

Upon completion, attendees will be awarded an Apex Health Assoictates certificate of attendance.
